CAMDEN MIDDLE SCHOOL Rides the Wild West Railroad

There is a new meaning to the words “Saturday School”. A group of 6th grade students from Camden Middle School were not required to attend school on Saturday. Instead, they received an opportunity to learn about the 1700’s and 1800’s in a very hands on way. Students rode the train to a place called Pioneer Town where real cowboys performed reenactments from the Wild West Days. Students learned about dress, weapons, steamed trains, and social protocol of the era.

One CMS student, Jacob Fitch, says it all, “I am going to have fun, fun, fun, “and he did. Jacob along with several other students were able to view the guns, hold coins and other memorabilia from the 1800’s.

Each student attending the train ride agreed that learning on a Saturday can be fun.

Parent Surveys
  • School Climate Survey

Schools in Georgia are rated using the College and Career Ready Performance Index, more commonly known as the CCRPI.  Each school is rated on a variety of indicators deriving a score between zero and 100.  Additionally, schools receive two star scores, one for financial efficiency and the other for school climate.  Each rating ranges from zero to five stars.  As part of the school climate star rating teachers, students, and parents are surveyed.    We would appreciate your input on our school climate.   Survey link
